Can Sugar Harm Your Gut Health?!
Updated: Oct 21
We love a sugary treat as much as the next person, but we choose to consume it in moderation. In excess, sugar contributes to a gut imbalance. As someone who has spent years with gut pain, bloat, constipation, and more ... I've dedicated my life to helping others naturally overcome a gut imbalance just like I have. After spending loads of money, bouncing around from doctor to doctor, and handed the band-aid approach I decided enough was enough and I invested in getting to the root cause of my gut imbalance. I finally feel better and was able to truly heal myself from the comfort of my own home by using natural remedies, diet, and lifestyle changes! But rebalancing the gut can be very complicated and many doctors fail to accept that gut health is at the center of our overall health. Aside from refusing to accept that a gut imbalance is real (and not all in your head), many doctors don't know how to properly test for it or rebalance the gut long term. Instead patients get the same band-aid approach that I did with the advice of antibiotics and probiotics which can actually make things worse. Taking a root cause approach to gut health by working with a local holistic doctor or a practitioner like us is the best way to keep your gut healthy for the long haul!
Unfortunately sugar is not the only contributor to a gut imbalance. Here is a list of other factors that can contribute to a gut imbalance. ⠀
Hormonal Birth Control (read more here)⠀
Artificial Sweeteners ⠀
Sucralose (hidden in a lot of foods so read your labels) ⠀⠀
Toxic Heavy Metals⠀
Hidden Food Sensitivities⠀
Overdoing Fermented Foods⠀
Processed Sugar Diet⠀⠀
Bottle Fed as an Infant ⠀⠀
Chlorine & Fluoride (in a lot of drinking water and some filtered waters) ⠀⠀
Other causes can make the gut imbalanced but these are the most common that we see in our holistic virtual practice. Our gut is at the center of our health and an imbalance can throw off EVERYTHING!
